the "stage 4" cylinders are good, you just need to run them in properly.

A genuine SIL engine should have a number stamped, right ?
Can somebody tell me how this number should look like ?

ok, i had a look at my two SIL motors last night. the number should start with a SIL logo "-S-*213456*1256" not sure exactly how many digits.

And it should look like a child stamped it.

Do you have the engine already?
If so you will need
1x MEC race crank
1x Iwis chain 82 link
1x set surflex clutch plates and springs.
1x set of quick slip chain guides.

Then you should have a decent and totally reliable engine that can be upgraded later to 225 without any more modification.
Remember, the SIL motor is "stage four tuned" so if you fit a pipe and big carb it will already be quite fast. Just don't do it on the original crank.

Yes I have it and this is my engine number S-802*008090* (happy I am that its is a genuine SIL [:D])
indeed looked like a child stamped it [:o)]
the engine must have been tested by them as it came in with engine oil still in it [:p]

They stamp the number after it comes off the test bank.
